Concept for how the Mirogox will work

So I'm currently thinking about having it so the rooms where you fight the Mirogox would show up randomly to replace existing rooms instead of having dedicated rooms. Like, basically, you enter a room, it looks a bit different from how it normally does, blam, suddenly a boss fight but you can escape it using the room exit. And if you do escape, it'll take you to the room you normally would've ended up in.

To perhaps explain better: Let's say you're going from room A to room B. The game decides it's been long enough since the previous Mirogox encounter. Not entirely at random, but partially influenced by RNG, say, choosing a range of 10-15 rooms from the previous encounter, enough to make it consistent yet just inconsistent enough to make it so the player can't be comfortable with it. The game takes you to room C. You run from the Mirogox, and now the game places you in room B like you originally expected.

And occasionally a Mirogox room wouldn't have a Mirogox in it, just to freak the player out a bit more.

If I do this, I'd probably have a mode available which lets you set the exact number of screens between encounters to allow predictability for speedrunners or some other similar solution. (Perhaps the time passed between encounters would be another requirement, not just screens visited?)

Any thoughts? I think it could be a good way to make it spookier.

I guess consider this an announcement of how I want to approach it as of now.
