A downloadable game for Windows

Caution: While this game does not have jumpscares (...scares, sure, but no full screen, in your face loud sound jumpscare scares) or loud sounds, the following game depicts sequences that are the protagonist's nightmares. This is debatably, though not definitively, a work of horror. Or at minimum, it is trying to be some level of unsettling.

You have been warned!

Also of note: The game starts in a 160x144 window. If you maximize it, the game will effectively enter fullscreen, though you can exit this with, at least on Windows 10, Windows Key + Down to put it back into a (rather small) window.

I uh... didn't really have time to do this a better way. Whoops.

I was going to do a last second HTML5 build as well, but... Fusion's HTML5 exporter doesn't stick to a pixel grid, unlike Fusion's Windows exporter, sadly, so... given Jam rules, I wasn't really able to keep that. Expect me to reupload that post-jam.

...also, I threw this thing together in a few hours. Would not surprise me if I missed a few bugs. I uh... forgot about the Jam until shockingly last second but still wanted to make a game for it. Whoops again.

Anyway!

You find a strange unmarked journal and a bizarre handheld. You open the journal, deciding you will play the game currently inserted into the handheld afterward.

The following journal page is marked as being from the date 5/19/199X:

Last night was the strangest night of my life.

I got ready for bed. I got a drink of water as I usually would. But you see, I saw a strange handheld next to my glass. I... have never owned a handheld game console before.

I assumed, simply, it is definitely haunted, so I grabbed mr water and I decided to go to bed.

This is when things started to get weird.

...let me ask a question:

If you can no longer tell reality from dream apart, can you survive the night?

Well, I have a problem right now, and it's that last night was May 19th as well. And so far, today has been exactly the same as yesterday. But I do feel one difference: I can no longer control what I do.

So, whatever you are controlling me, strange posessor of my body and will, who has allowed me only time to write this journal and naught more... I hope you can back up that "yes" I just saw in the mirror.
